AmericanHort Advocacy Team Hits the Road
The AmericanHort advocacy team headed out this past week, attending industry shows and events in the Southeast and Midwest to deliver the latest on advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C.
With trade show season still going strong, getting beyond the beltway and interacting with the grassroots is an essential element of AmericanHort advocacy efforts in the Nation’s Capital. There is no substitute for speaking directly to, and hearing directly from, AmericanHort members and state association partners on critical issues facing the industry.
Senior vice president Craig Regelbrugge attended the Chicagoland area iLandscape Show, providing a “State of the Union” presentation that briefed attendees on the latest efforts to bring cap relief for the H-2B program and on securing broader workforce solutions. Despite the brutal cold, the worst in several decades, the show was energetic and well-attended.
Gulf States Expo in Mobile, Alabama, was the destination for AmericanHort director of government affairs, Tal Coley. Coley briefed attendees on trucking regulations as well as research efforts in a joint presentation with the National Association of Landscape Professionals. The Gulf States Expo is hosted annually by the Alabama Nursery & Landscape Association, Mississippi Nursery & Landscape Association, and the Louisiana Nursery & Landscape Association.
