Women In Horticulture Interview Series – Genevieve Reiner Mills
Meet Genevieve Reiner, Mills, COO and In-house General Counsel for Oakland Nursery, LLC., and Director of Oakland Green Interiors.
Genevieve is a passionate problem-solver who loves being in the trenches and gets excited about working on big concept ideas and future planning.
Genevieve spent several years as a negotiator and trial attorney and uses those skills in her position overseeing various departments at Oakland Nursery. Servant leadership is a key component of her management approach. She believes strongly in the power of plants and good design to make our spaces better and is grateful to work with a team of individuals who share that passion.
Genevieve holds her Bachelor of Arts in European History from Boston College, her Master’s in Arts degree in South Asian Art History from The Ohio State University, and her Juris Doctorate from The Mortiz College of Law at The Ohio State University. She is a Certified Trainer for Green Plants for Green Buildings. Prior to joining Oakland Nursery, she worked as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office where she represented the state in preliminary hearings, arraignments, Grand Jury indictments, and trials. Genevieve is active in her community having served on the St. Stephen’s Community Center House Board, amongst other organizations she supports.
