The AmericanHort advocacy team was out and about during the month of June supporting our state association partners’ key events across the country.
MNLGA Field Day | Glen Arm, Md.
We joined the Maryland Nursery, Landscape and Greenhouse Association at The Perennial Farm and Manor View Farm for MNLGA’s Summer Field Day. Craig Regelbrugge gave an update on AmericanHort work on labor and workforce issues, ensuring horticultural products are treated as agriculture by the Department of Transportation, and the state of play in Washington around various crop protection tools.
Alabama Agribusiness Council Annual Meeting | Orange Beach, Ala.
Tal Coley, Director of Government Relations, treated the Alabama Agribusiness Council to the latest updates on federal legislative and regulatory challenges and outlined the active engagement AmericanHort and our partners including the Alabama Nursery & Landscape Association are doing to protect the industry’s interests—including our recent webinar on the science behind glyphosate, and the recent introduction of bills in the House and Senate to ensure the horticultural products are defined as agricultural commodities under federal trucking regulations.
